Privacy Policy

DiskCode does not collect your data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and DiskCode makes no network connections. It reads the folders you choose and draws what it finds on your screen. Nothing about your files, or about how you use the app, is sent to the developer or to anyone else.

What the developer receives

Nothing. DiskCode has no telemetry, no crash reporting service, no advertising identifiers and no third-party SDKs of any kind, and it does not check for updates on its own — the Mac App Store handles updates. The developer has no way to see your files, your folders or your disk.

If you write to support@mailcode.app, the developer receives what you choose to send, and uses it only to answer you.

What DiskCode reads

Only what macOS lets it: the folders you choose in an Open dialog — or all of Macintosh HD if you choose that — plus the protected folders that Full Disk Access opens, if you turn it on. It reads file and folder names, sizes and dates to measure them. To find duplicates it reads the contents of files that have the same size, to compare them on your Mac.

What is stored on your Mac

The Mac App Store version keeps the following inside its own app storage:

• Your settings, such as the Dark or Light theme
• The folders you chose, so macOS does not have to ask again
• A search index of the file and folder names, sizes and dates from your last scan, so Search can answer instantly. Forget under the search box empties it

None of this leaves your Mac. Deleting DiskCode removes it. The direct-download version keeps nothing between launches.

What DiskCode changes

Nothing, unless you ask. Move to Trash moves only the items you selected, after you confirm, to the Trash — never deleting them. Files that macOS protects are never offered.

Links

DiskCode shows one link, to MailCode on the Mac App Store. It opens the App Store only when you click it, and DiskCode records nothing about whether you did. DiskCode's own interface is drawn from files inside the app; nothing is loaded from the internet.

Children

DiskCode collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If DiskCode ever starts handling data differently, this page will say so before that version ships, with a new date at the top.
